HAPPY 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Nate (Mickey) and Dianna Spencer celebrate 50 years of love on November 9, 2014. On November 8th they were surprise with a dinner party at Perry & Son's Market and Grill, hosted by their children, Rick, Kim, Michelle and Jenny. They were both totally shocked, they thought they would be having a nice quite dinner with their girls. Instead they enjoyed a sit down dinner with family and friends.
Mom's mouth flew open when she went into the room full of family and friends. Mom said that she noticed the cake but didn't think anything of it. Dad just stop walking and stood there for a couple of seconds. He saw his friend Patsy from church and was so shocked, he couldn't figure out how she could be there since mom and dad are the only ones that know her (we have our ways). They had no ideal that Rick, Frances, Raychel and Maleyah drove in the day before or that their niece Keisha had driven in that morning to be there.
There was a lot of tears and fun. All of their adopted children and grandchild told them how much they mean to them and how much they love them. It was really nice to hear that so many people had been touched by them. Jaylin even said a poem that made everyone laugh. Rick gave a really nice toast, Michelle and Jenny expressed how much mom and dad mean to them and what a great example they are for a long marriage. Raychel and Sydnee read a poem from all the grandchildren and great granddaughters to them. All of the grandchildren couldn't be there but they were able to face time with their grandson's, Spencer in Africa and Richard and great granddaughter Claire in California and speak to Sharlene. Dad, mom and their children with their spouses danced to a song we all use to sing on our long family car rides to where ever we ended up going, "Greatest Love" by George Benson. Warren, Jordan, Jaylin and Maleyah danced the night away. Another special moment came when Patsy told us all what a loving family we had and she was so excited to be a part of it. She talked about how she was treated like family as soon as she walked in the door. That says a lot about this wonderful family.
We would like to say thank you to all that came, for all that sent their well wished and thank you for not spilling the beans about the surprise.
Kim's thoughts - A lot of people thought and didn't want you to make it but you showed them that love conquers all!! I'm so proud of you both and love you so much!!
