                                                                                   SPENCER HOGAN by Michelle Hogan

On March 5, 2013, our son Spencer Hogan began his journey to become a United States Airman. The weekend of May 5th, he successfully completed Basic Training for the United States Air Force at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. It was truly a blessing to see Spencer after 8½ long weeks of speaking to him once a week and for no longer than 15 min. It was clear after seeing Spencer how much he had matured. For his graduation he was blessed to have 25 family and friends come to support and give him encouragement. Spencer has an Aunt Simmie, (his dad's sister) and an Uncle Rick (his mom's brother) that are retired Air Force. His Uncle Rick, Aunt Frances and cousin Maleyah came from Virginia. After graduation, Spencer saluted his Uncle Rick and Uncle Rick presented him with a special Air Force coin. Spencer is specializing in security forces and is currently in technical training until mid-August. He will come home to Friendswood, Texas for a couple of weeks and then will prepare for his first tour in London, England at Mildenhall AFB reporting for duty September 30.

David and I (and his sister, Sydnee) are very proud of Spencer's accomplishments over the last several months. He did what may won't and he is doing it very humbly.

I just have to say that we are all so very proud of you Spencer. It was very hard for me to see how much you had grown up over the last few months. Mark told me that you couldn't stay "little Spencer" forever. I asked him "WHY NOT". After a ton of tears, I finale get it. I'm so excited for all the new adventures that await you. Stay safe and have fun. Always know how much we love you. Love Aunt Kim

                                                                  Dwayne Henry by Rob Kersey

Dwayne graduated from Dover High School June 5th 2013.  We are all proud of him he maintained focus and discipline in his academics and athletics.  We all can't wait for him to excell at the next level.  College choices were tough for him as he narrowed it down to 4 schools.  As everyone knows he excelled at Soccer and in his senior year at the end of the track season he was approached to run on the team, and what a job he did fininshing 5th in the state for Division I 100 meter dash and running and anchoring the 3rd place 4/100 meter relay.  Several schools were interested in him but Dwayne has decided to attend Methodist University where he will be focusing on academics and playing for the Monarchs soccer team.  Latende did an excellent job at giving him the tools needed to accomplish these goals she is a very supportive mother who makes sure her children are not missing out on anything, and i do mean anything.  Without question mother AKA /grammy/gram well you all know she imposed her will on him when needed!!!  Brenda and myself did what we could in that supportive roll traveling and attending any event we could. Aunt Keisha was also there to support Dwayne. Grant and Zaria he has set the path for you so take it and raise the bar!!! Good Luck Nephew!

Love you

Uncle Rob

            CAMERON BURRELL By Rheata Battle

It gives me great pleasure to announce that we have a 2013 High School Graduate in the family from Ypsilanti, Michigan!

After years of hard work and determination; Mr. Cameron Joseph Burrell has earned his diploma from Willow Run Community Schools near Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Joel and Trina ( Battle) Burrell, are delighted and proud that their only son has followed the teaching that they have taught him from infancy.

Cameron has an older sister who graduated in 2012 and his younger sister is due to graduate from high school 2015,

Mrs. Christopher Burrell and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas ( Rheata Taylor )  Battle, Jr. are his proud and happy grandparents. Mrs. Rolanda (Taylor) Hudson is his Great Grandmother.

Cameron ( or Joey ), as we call him is a person of few words. He regularly spends time to help others learn the Bible teachings that he has been taught. Joey is aware that he needs to further his education, and plans to attend a school in the area of his hometown later this year.

                  ***CONGRATULATIONS  JOEY***

Thanks to ALL of our Young Family Members for all of the hard work that they have done this past school year!! We older ones know that you are ALL Special.

JAYLIN & WARREN DENEFIED by Jennifer Denefield

This past spring Jaylin's artwork was entered in a contest given by the Houston Society of the Performing Arts. Jaylin won 3rd place in her age group throughout the Houston Area. The awards ceremony was held at The Wortham Center in downtown Houston. She was awarded a 3rd place ribbon and a $75.00 cash prize. Her watercolor artwork was named "Mirachi Band". Her artwork will be used in the society of performing arts brochure.

Warren Jay has been enrolled in gymnastics for past year and started at a new gym this summer. During his tryout with older boys, Warren outshined the older boys. He has a real talent for gymnastic. We are so proud of both of our remarkable kids. Warren and Jenny

                                DAVID JOHNSON

David Johnson received The Air Force Commendation Award in May. David is the son of Paulette Gambril.

David is the father of Gabby and Detrique.

             GABBY & DETRIQUE JOHNSON

Gabby is an A/B Honor Roll w/ Perfect Attendance. She'll be in 4th Grade next school year while Detrique will start Pre-K. Time flies!

Our cousin Rheata had a great ideal. She thought it would be nice if we could share pictures of our family's through emails. With our family living all around the world, it would be a great way for us to watch all the changes in each others lives. If you would like to share pictures with the family, please send me an email at bkcash@sbcglobal.net. I will put together a email list of people wanting to share pictures and send the list out to everyone interested.

Well that's it for now. Thank you to everyone that shared a story with the family. The next newsletter will come out in October, so if you want to share something please send it to me by the end of September.

Love you all,

Kim
