                                   HAPPY THANKSGIVING

My very inquisitive daughter has been asking a lot of questions lately. She is looking forward to Christmas and her birthday, but I told her that Thanksgiving was coming first. So of course she wanted to know what Thanksgiving was. I told her it was a time to be very thankful for all that we have, like our family & friends. I also told her that I was very thankful that God decided that I would be her mommy and that I get to love her forever. She said she like that and she told me “you’re the best mommy in the whole city”. That made me smile. So this Thanksgiving take a few minutes to tell the people around you how much you love them. We really shouldn’t wait until a special holiday to say it because you never know what tomorrow will bring. I guess once a month I get to tell you all how much I love you by doing this newsletter. I hope you all know how special you all are to me.

Don't forget about the 2010 Thanksgiving trip. It's not to late. We are going to have a lot of fun, so think about going. Email or call Rick. Click on the 2010 Thanksgiving Trip tab for more information. See you there.

A GRANDMA'S LOVE by Betty Kersey

In last month's newsletter there was a picture of Aunt Betty at her grandson's soccer game (see it below), and I said that she must be bragging about him. Well I was wrong, she was crying. Please read the note she sent me below.

No, I was not bragging on the phone at Dwayne's soccer game.  I was crying.  Just wait until you become a Grandma.  It is so different than being a mom.  Look I even spelled mom with lower case letters lol.  This was Dwayne's first High School game.  He is one of the four Freshmen playing on the Varsity team.  I cried when I first saw him warming up with the team.  I cried just before the game when his name and number was called as a starter.  I cried when he made his first touch on the ball,  It was very emotional for me, but a good emotion.  LaTende was not able to make that game, so I called her and Keisha for each crying event.  Rob teased me about my tears, but he was just as bad, snapping pictures galore.  My Grandson is such an exciting player.  One of the fathers on the traveling team gave him the nickname of Mr. Excitement.

I have followed Dwayne and his Soccer games for years, from Parks and Rec to the traveling teams, and Middle School, but nothing compares to High School Soccer.  I was not prepared for this.  He not only made Varsity, but he is a starter, who plays just about the whole game.  Just like Spencer, Dwayne is becoming a wonderful young man.  He is taking control of his studies and is on the right track.  We are so proud of him.

Yes, I'm still crying at Dwayne's games, and am very protective of who's calling out my grandson's name from the bleachers.  They better be saying something nice.

                                                                      HAPPY HALLOWEEN

This Halloween the kids were invited to Aunt Shell’s house for pizza before going trick or treating. The kids had a great time and I didn’t have to cook so that was great for me. Aunt Shell made the kids go out her back door and come around to the front door, so they could ring the door bell and tell her trick or treat. Most people just give the kids a normal size piece of candy, but not Aunt Shell, she gave them each one of those big heresy chocolate bars (check out the last 3 pictures of the kids eating theirs).  Just before we left Aunt Shell’s house she decided she wanted to go with us to mom’s house to trick or treat. I’m not sure who had the best time Michelle or the kids. I think Aunt Shell is more exciting than their moms. I told Jenny at one point to let Michelle go to the doors with the kids because she was having a good time. The kids had a great time until we to one house and the man scared the you what out of Jordan and Warren. Jordan wanted to go back to grandmas to tell her dad and Warren just wanted to go back to grandmas and forget the trick or treat thing. The both cried, the only one that didn’t seem upset was Jaylin, she just keep on going. After a few more houses Jordan started screaming and crying again and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Michelle had to stop me and tell me that there was another man wearing the same kind of mask as the man that scared her walking by, we had to across the street. So Halloween was fun but scary. Jordan is still talking about the man that scared her. I don’t think we will be trick or treating at that house next year, because she will remember what happen. All in all they had a great time. The best part was just being together. Check out the pictures below. You will see that Gibs (the Hogan's dog) had to get in the pictures. When we called the kids he came right along with them, like he was one.

Well that's it for this month. Not a lot going on. Please send me things to share. I'm having a hard time coming up with things that I think people might like. This family loves pictures, so please send me some to share. Talk to you next month.
