                                                 PRAYER'S NEEDED

Please keep my Aunt Paulette in your prayers. She had a massive stroke on June 1st. Today she is a wake and alert. We are not sure what damage or if there was any damage from the stroke right now. I will keep everyone up on what's going on with her.

                                           HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Father's day is almost here, so make sure you let your dad, grandpa, uncle or anyone that is like a dad know how much you love them.

Jordan wanted to say Happy Father's day to her daddy, papa Nate, papa Andrew, grandpa George and all her uncles.

Happy Father's day to my dad, Bruce, my uncles, my brother, my brother-n-laws and my father-n-laws. I hope you all enjoy your day.

                                                                                  WARREN'S BAPTISMAL & BIRTHDAY PARTY

Warren Denefield II was baptized on May 2, 2010, exactly 30 years to the day that his mom (Jenny), his Aunt Kim, Aunt Michelle and Uncle Rick were baptized. We didn’t even realize it until mom found our baptismal papers and she told me the date.  I hope for him that's a good sign. I am so blessed to be his aunt and his godmother. He is a wonderful little boy. Warren was bless to have both sets of grandparents, his aunts, uncle, cousin’s and his big sister’s there to celebrate the day. When it was Warren’s time to be baptized he wanted to do it by himself, he wanted to pour the water and everything. But that’s Warren a very independent little boy. The priest invited the younger children to come up and stir the water in the big holy pool, so Jaylin and Jordan enjoyed that part. After it was over Jordan told her dad that she wanted to be baptized but that the priest couldn’t pour water on her hair!

We spent the rest of the day at Jenny’s house celebrating Warren’s 4th birthday. It’s funny how children change. Last year for Warren’s birthday we had the big water slide and he loved it and Jordan didn’t like it. This year he went up but wouldn’t slide down and you couldn’t keep Jordan off of it. Jaylin went down with Spencer holding her but she said he feel all over her so she didn’t want to do it again. Everyone had such a good time. It was a family affair. Uncle Bruce cooked all the meat and his aunt’s made the sides. And of course his grandparents help do whatever was needed. That’s what I like about our family we are all welling to help out when something is going on.

The first picture is after the bapitsmal. That's me, Warren, Warren II, Father Bob, Jenny and Warren's godfather James. 2. Warren on the big slide. 3. Jordan coming down the slide. 4. Jordan, Jenny, Warren and Jaylin at the sprinkler. 5. Warren with his little attitude on. 6. This is Warren after he found his birthday present from his parents and came out riding it.

2010 Memorial Day BBQ  -- Rick Spencer

We held our annual Memorial Day Weekend BBQ on Saturday, 29 May, starting at 4 pm.  Attended by over 80 friends, neighbors and co-workers, we had a beautiful day even though the weather forecast called for scattered thunderstorms.  I got very concerned as at precisely 4 pm, the  scheduled start time, our first guests felt a few raindrops.  After the initial scare, the sun came back out and we never saw another cloud.  Adults and kids played games in the yard and ate LOTS OF FOOD.   The menu included:  Beef brisket, pulled pork, pulled venison, BBQ chicken, BBQ ribs, Korean beef ribs, jerked chicken, jerked pork, grilled lime and cilantro shrimp, grilled salmon, hamburgers, hotdogs, hot sausages, Rick’s special beans, grilled cabbage, grilled zucchini, coleslaw , potato salad, mint tea and white sangria.  Many guests also brought side dishes and dessert.  Like I said -- a lot of food..

We started cooking Thursday night and finished the short cooking time items on Saturday using a BBQ pit, two charcoal grills, a vertical smoker and two gas grills!

                                                                                                                           FAMILY LOVE

Every holiday seems special when it comes to family.  When it came to Mother’s Day this year it was very special because it not only made me think of my wonderful mother, grandmothers and aunts that so much of who I am today.  I shared a great day with my family on Mother’s Day.   The following Sunday, my sisters and I took Mom to brunch to a nice restaurant in Houston… no children… no husbands.  But I must say the best thing about Mother’s Day this year is what I receive in the mail from my Aunt Betty.  She sent me a nice package with a letter and a picture hoping it would brighten my day.  And oh boy did it! J   I read the letter over and over and stared at the picture for a long while.  I couldn’t wait to show the letter and picture to my husband and children.  The picture reminded me when life was simple. No worries.  No pains. No daily medications.   Just the fascination of what is Grampa doing at this very minute! The love that I felt from and for my grandparents has always been very special.    My fascination and admiration of my grandparents, is well beyond words.

Happy Father’s day to all of the wonderful men in my life, my husband, dad, grandfathers, brother, uncles and cousins (some of my male cousins don’t have biological children of their own, but they play a positive role in raising respectable children) and brother-in- laws.

I am so blessed to have such strong family ties.  My generation only knows what we are taught by our elders and that is to love and care for one another!

Aunt Betty,

I am sorry for not calling you to THANK YOU for the picture and the nice letter.  You brighten my day and I smile when I look at the picture.  Every time I went to call you I found myself getting emotional.  I am so grateful for you, your thoughts and prayers.

Love Always,

 Michelle
